(Last!) Online Journal Entry #28

And by the way, everything in life is writable about if you have the outgoing guts to do it, and the imagination to improvise. The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt. ~Sylvia Plath
Of everything we've done this year, I think the blogs have been my favorite thing to grade. I love to see what you think when you don't have to worry about saying it out loud in class. Oh, the freedom anonymity brings! Your online responses have allowed me to see your dreams, plans, values--your THOUGHTS--and it has been amazing. You all are a bunch of crazy-talented, creative, intelligent, and introspective people; and I hope you continue to write--for yourselves--for many years to come.
So, for one last time, I want you to tell me something you have enjoyed in this class this year. Something that stands out in your memory or an activity you enjoyed. [Of course, you have the option to say "nothing," but know that is the amount of points you will receive for it as well!]. I have enjoyed this year more than you know. Thank you for being the wonderful, insightful people you are--I know you will go far. Have an awesome summer and an Incredible Senior Year!!
The act of putting pen to paper encourages pause for thought, this in turn makes us think more deeply about life. ~Norbet Platt
Fill your paper with the breathings of your heart. ~William Wordsworth
And one last thought from the Transcendentalists:
How vain it is to sit down to write when you have not stood up to live. ~Henry David Thoreau, Journal, 19 August 1851

One thing that I really enjoyed is that you gave us writing assignments that allowed me to wright what I wanted to wright about. Usually, most English teachers make you wright on the required subject. And that there hasn't been as much home work compared to other English classes. Thx. Have a good summer, Mrs. Snow.

I have enjoyed reading stories in this class. Also I liked that you weren't outragously strict on something like some teachers are for no reason at all. Over all I liked this class and think I came out learning more than I did before this year.

Something i really enjoyed about class was when we did that hole camp fire thing with poetry and stories. I was different to have all the lights off and have a make shift fire in the middle of the floor. I also really enjoyed the fun energy that was always in the classroom.

something that i liked this year what that you were never dull. you were always cheerful and loud even when we were falling alseep. you were patient with us instead if getting mad and writting us all up like most teachers would ha. haha. i liked when wed take 3 months to read something that should have only been a 2 week project. and some of this i wish even sooner. they got kinda boring. :) you let us eat in class and even txt and answer "important" phone calls. i will most likely remember this class because of these things. thank you for making this year so fun. hope you have great classes next year and an amazing summer!!!!

I do enjoy the randomness, but it can be hard to keep up with. But, I like the openness and freedom of expression and discussion we have in the class.

I think that the things that stood out the most were the blogs. We had one every week and so I always had to make a note of it. I loved expressing myself. It was nice to think about stuff I don't usually think about. I mean it was a hassel haveing to do them all the time when I thoght I had better things to do. But it was a nice way to just get away and just right. It was like a diary for everyone to read, but no one knew who I was. I liked it! Had a great year! Thanks for everything!!!

I really enjoyed the walden project because it let me explore my creativity unlike usual . it wasnt a lot of writing just reading and a shot at an artistic view.

The activity that we did in the beging of the year that I liked the most was the game we played, where we all got to meet each other
by having a piece of paper and we had to put info about the people we meet on them. Also when we played scatagories. I think thats how you spell it. But anyway It has been fun this year and I hope you have a great summer and have fun with the juniors next year. Thanx for all your help.

Something about this class i'll never forget is how much crap you had to take from everyone in the class...and pretty much everytime you would just smile and have a really witty come-back!!!! It was hilarious to watch Jacob do everything he can to keep your attention and try to get a reaction....The dance'n on the stoll was so funny!!!! oh yea and notice that all the words im type'n are in straight lines and the contrast of black letters to white background!!!!! AHHHHHHHHH LINES!!!! overall Mrs.Snow you're one of the best teachers i've ever had definately top two for sure!!!! Wish you would teach English III!!!!! dont be a lil girl and DO IT!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!

Mrs. Snow, i have enjoyed a lot this year in your class! the thing ill probably remember the most about your class is sitting in circles around our "campfire" haha! that was fun. You did a good job putting up with the boys in our class and ignoring Tyler David's obnoxious remarks! I hope you have a good summer! ill stop by to see you during my senior year! :)

Well my favorite part of your class was when the classes would ask, "What are we doing today?"
and you would always answer the same way "Something new and exciting" just hearing everybody graon made my day!
What i really loved was no matter what you acctually WANTED to hear what we had to say.Wow i just used what to start every line 4 times.
so tahnk you so much for an amazing english class. I hate english(any other year) but your english class was so different. I learned so much more. And the best part fd all was that you kept my attention. We always had some creative project so that your class was never boring!!! I love you man !!!!!

This class can get pretty crazy at times but it's a lot of fun. Wakes me up in the morning. My favorite thing about this class would have to be you. Your a great teacher and you care. We learn but at the same time we have fun. You make sure we all respect others and their thoughts about things. You know how to joke around with us and have fun unlike some of the other teachers. Thanks for a great year in english 3!
