Online Journal Entry 21

"No kind action ever stops with itself. One kind action leads to another. Good example is followed. A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees. The greatest work that kindness does to others is that it makes them kind themselves." ~Amelia Earhart

This weeks blog is a little more complicated. Your assignment is go out and perform a random act of kindness--a kind act for the benefit of someone else which brings no profit or honor to yourself. Then come back here and tell us what you did, how the recipient reacted, and how you felt after you did it. Like the transcendentalists, let's make something of our lives today!
Love and kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference. They bless the one who receives them, and they bless you, the giver. ~Barbara De Angelis

My neighbor's father just passed away and she asked me to watch her kid for her, so I did. She told me that she didn't have any money because of the funeral and I told her that it wasn't a problem and to just go. she smiled at me and she went on her way. I felt pretty good with myself just because she asked me to watch her kid in such a hurry and I had plans, but I told her that I would watch her daughter for her while she went and took care of things. So I actually dropped what I was doing to help another in need. So I felt pretty good!!

My brother got his phone stolen from him at the job fair on Valentines day. So yesterday he went to go get a new one, but he was ten dollers short. He was really bummed that he had to wait another two weeks for pay day so he could get it.So I gave him ten dollers. He was so happy and took me with him to get it. It felt really good to help out my brother for once because he does stuff for me. I liked my RAK!!!

Earlier this week I was at Walmart-the best place ever. I saw this old lady having trouble carrying her groceries to the car. My hands were full so I didn't really want to help. The old lady fell so then I ran over to her and helped her up and carried her stuff to the car. The old lady just kinda stared at me weird. I felt weird afterwards.

I was atwork the other day and this older lady with a cane walked in. She had a huge order of flowers, gift certificates, and other goods she had won from the auction block. She went to pick a box up and I knew she wouldnt be able to pick it up, it took her 10 minutes just to walk from her car to the front desk. So i went and had her go to her car and I carried all the items out to her car. I could tell it really helped her. I could see her leg was hurting her. She was very very nice and tried giving me a tip but I didn't even feel I deserved it. Carrying just a couple items was such a huge gift to her. It made me feel great.

I am always a nice person, i usually do nice things for people too so doing this wasnt anything different than usual. My parents were very sick this week so i decided to cook them dinner and brought it to them in bed and i helped take care of the house and clean while they were in bed.

The other day i was in radio shack and this little girl was playing with her baby doll. Then something caught her eye and I quess she dropped her toy and started walking away. Without thinking I ran and picked up the doll and took it to the girl's mother and said "I think your daughter dropped this over there." She and the little girl thanked me and told me that the toy was her favorite. After that I felt really good and just knew that if I had left something behind that was that important, I hope that someone would return it to me.

OK, so my church has basketball tournaments among the various young woman in Missouri. Tomorrow, we play Springfield. This past Wednesday, we had practice from 5pm - 7pm, and one of my friends was having a hard time with dribbling down the court, so I volunteered to stay after for about an extra 45 minutes to help her out. I was able practice for my self and she gained a greater understanding on how to dribble correctly. We both had fun and I could tell she appreciated it. She thanked me, I don't know how many times, and then we both went home. I gave up my time and energy to help her, and I felt great. Well until I got home and remembered I had homework still to finish :)

Well my random act of kindness for the week was something not that special. After track practice, I bought my friend Kaci dinner. We both thought that subway sounded good so I was like "hey I'll buy you dinner". She was excited when I told her I would buy her dinner. She is a special person to me so it felt good doing something nice for her.

The other day my little bro came home with an award from school and as a surprise I gave him like 10 dallars to go get something at the book fair. I know this situation is sort of questionable but it was my money and I needed it for something else that weekend but I decided to give it to him, knowing I wasn't going to get it back. I felt good knowing that he was happy.

I was in Arkansas this past weekend and we stopped at a corner store to get drinks and take a bathroom break. Well, there a man outside that was sitting on the curb and he was wearing really worn down clothes and looked down on his luck. After I used the restroom and bought an extra water for him. When I gave it to him, his face just lit up. It was a great feeling.

There is this elderly lady who I work with. She is eighty-six years old and she always carries everything out to her car by herself and no one offers to help her. So on Sunday I offered to carry her things out to her car and she said that it would be very helpful. She offered to pay me but I told her it would absolutely not be a problem. It made me feel very happy to help her...

So, this morning I decided that I would make breakfast for my mom, in bed. So, I got up around 9 and my brother helped me make pancakes, eggs, bacon, and we made her some coffee, just how she like it!

Well, a few days ago, my older sister Azshia called me and wanted me to go pick her up. She was having problems at her house and with people that know her. So, I drove about thirty minutes away to go pick her up. After I picked her up, we started talking about what was wrong. I just told her my advice and she TOOK it! WOW! But, after she stayed the night with me that night, she wanted to go home. She said that she just needed to get away from her house for a little bit. It's okay though..she is my sister and I love her. There is nothing I wouldn't do for her. She's not only my sister, but she is also my best friend!!

this isnt a huge act of kindness, but i think it can sometimes go a long way. i think too many teens are misrepresented by the elderly because of the way some of them act. I try to go out of my way to do simple things like go out of my way to open doors for them, or greet them with a friendly smile. Who knows maybe it can change some opinions.

She was surprised that I offered this but then I took her to Ruby Tuesdays and bought her dinner for her. She really appreciated it and gave me a big hug and told me she loved me!

Last week i had a concert with a band called Sera Velle and at the concert everyone who was their pretty much bailed out cuz they had never heard of them, even tho this band was very popular. I was one of the few that stuck around to watch them because i hate when people dont support others just cuz their different. After the show i asked them all out to I-Hop with us and they said they would but didnt have any money and all the go is to McDonalds all the time. I felt like i was supossed to help them out so i gave them all the money i had in my wallet and said that i wanted to bless them for coming and they couldn't believe that i would give them 80 dollars without even knowing them. I felt very good about the choice i had made even tho didnt have alot of money at the time.

I have track practice every day after school. I friend of mine was running and everyone started to pass her because she started slowing down because she was having trouble breathing. I slowed down and waited for her, when she caught up with me we ran together. After practice she thanked me and said that she was happy that I came back to run with her. This made me feel really good and I was very happy.
