- I grew up in a little town in Southwest Missouri and have wanted to be a teacher nearly all of my life. Every grade I went through, I would imagine creative ways to teach each subject. After high school, I went through the Honor's Program at MSSU, where I met my husband, Eddie, on my very first day of classes. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in English and Theatre and recently took a year off teaching to attend MSU where I earned my Master's Degree. Eddie teaches history at Nixa Jr. High and coaches 7th grade football and I stayed at home with our three children for ten wonderful years. Tucker, 12, Savannah, 8, and Emma, 5, are the light of my life--we love movies, pools, and just hanging out together. I'm excited to be returning to BHS this year where I will have all sophomore classes. As I love to read all kinds of things and have spent many happy hours lost in books, it is my goal to pique the imagination of my students in a subject in which they have shown little interest. We will be learning a lot in a great variety of ways, so I ask you all to join me on this journey and try some new things as we go to see if you can find out where your own passions lie.

Respect means to me that its more that being nice to someone or holding open the door, its manly the attitude toward that person. Like when you have to do some thing that you don't want to do it with a good attitude o at least act like you are enjoying it. But with respect comes your reputation. when you show respect toward some one that give credit to your respect level. you must give respect to reeve it.
respect is being nice to the other people around you. in the classroom you should show respect towards your teacher and classmates.

i always lived by the old saying "treat others the way you would want to me treated." i think if you go byut this you wont have half as many problems in life with respect issues. respect is something u need and need to show to make it through most of your days. it helps make friends and make careers. respect just might determine your lifes direction. and you never know if you disrespect the wrong person you could DIE!!!!

Respect is all about how you treat people even those you do not like. Weather it is just raising your hand instead of yelling out loud or holding the door open for the next person that is about to come in. These might seem small to you but they show a lot of respect and shows that you have good character.
Respect means that you listen to the person or people that you respect and dont talk about them or say things you wouldnt say to their face. Otheres should show respect by caring about what people say and not talking about them behind their back.
What respect means to me is that, not only are you nice to people, but you also care for them and their belongings. You should show respect in the classroom by listening to the teacher, being quite, be helpful to others, and always be on your best behavior. People should respect me by: what I say, what I do, and many other things. IF YOU RESPECT OTHERS, OTHERS WILL RESPECT YOU! Simple as that. We need to repsect others. If you want respect, you have to give respect. Despite your opinions about people, you should still give them respect, especially your elders, and teachers. Sometimes, it takes a lot to give respect to someonem especially when they have been disrespectful to you, or have done something to you that does not deserve repect. However, it is necessary.

Respect is a very good thing to show. To me it means to share, listen, talk with manners, and be nice. In the classroom everyone can show respect by taking turns talk by raising your hand and wait for the teacher to call on you, listen to others to talk, and help them with something if needed.

Respect is a very important to everyone. by respect i get to thin thow a person rally is, if they teat me with respect i will treate them with the respect they gave me but if they don't i will just treat them like they trated me.
R-E-S-P-E-C-T....we all no the song but do we all show respect...NO. most people dont even though they should. treat others well (with respect) and you will be treated well (with respect). it not that difficult just do it. in class just be polite, show your manners, dont be rude, be nice to teachers and others, and just do all the things that you know you should be doing that you may not always do.
to me respect goes along way I try my best to respect other peoples ideas, ambitions, and ways of thinking. I don't judge people by who they are but what they bring to the table. Everyone has their own song to sing, just listen.

to me respect is something that is earned not atomaticly given. If you want respect prove it and show that you deserve it other wise your not going be taken seriously there for you will have no respect. As far as the classroom goes if the teacher demands respect then it will be given!promise kept!
I feel that respect mostly involves your actions towards individuals in response to their actions. If someone is talking, the respectful thing to do would be to listen. If someone is helping you, the respectful thing to do would be to say thank you and help them in return if possible. In the classroom I think these parts of respect are very important and should apply when anyone is doing a presentation in front of the class or just trying to ask a question.

Respect is when you show someone their own personally moral equality. You should show it in the classroom by treating people theway you want to be treated. I feel that the oters in the classroom treat me with respect due to myself not treating them bad.
Respect is something that is extremely lacked in our society. No one gives respect with out getting it, therefore no one gets it becuase no one gives it. If not for any other reason, respect people because you are the "bigger man". Respect has got to start somewhere, so why not with you?
Respect is something you show others. To recieve respect, one must give respect to others. I personally get very offended when people do not respect me. I try to respect everyone, however, I do not just give my respect away. You do not just get my respect, people must earn it. Respect is not a right, it is a privilege.

This is basically like the golden rule. By treating others how you want to be treated. You can show others and teachers respect by not talking when they are and treat them with kindness.
Respect means treating others well and how you would want to be treated. A bad example of showing respect would be the remote incident, where three students thought it would be funny to turn the t.v. off and on and off and on, and guess what? It wasn't funny at all! I think that everyone should respect the teacher because it is a hard job trying to control high school students so we should all respect the teacher and try to make their jobs less stressful. Everyone deserves to be treated respect. :)
To me recspect is honoring other peoples opinions and thoughts. Instead of critizising the beliefs of other people and try to see it from their prespective. I thiink that if you show that courtesy to them they will show the same back to you.

I think a lot of what respect is about is body language. Anyone can hold a door open for someone, but they could have a really bad attitude about it. If they are happy to hold the door open for someone it shows they have respect for that person. If someone is having a hard time reading outloud, don't make fun of them, it could easily be you having the same trouble. The main rule to use is famous line, "Treat people the way you want to be treated." When I'm talking outloud to the class stating my opinion it is really annoying when other people are talking or just interrupt me. Therefore, I don't talk outloud when others are talking, except if it is a debate or argument.
To me, respect means showing that you are interested in what people are saying and show that you are listening. How I feel others should show respect to me is to really just be nice and don't be rude and if I talk to you then don't cut me off or start talking. Just listen to what I have to say and that's all I ask.

People who dont respect others, I think just end up looking stupid. Sometimes people may think its cool to not, but when it gets to a cetain point it can be rediculous. I hate when people dont respect others. In the classroom You should respect the teacher and what they have to say and dont put others down also. To me, I just want to people to know the line and to know when to stop.

I believe that respect is when you listen to others and do not interrupt. When someone is talking you do not speak, you listen closely. I believe that everybody should be respected.

I believe respect is earned, and not given. Respect is not just what you say to people, but also how you say it. It is also a two-way street. Which means I deserve the respect from the people that I give respect to.
