"Coming together is a beginning, Keeping together is progress, Working together is success." --Henry Ford
Consider the above quotation specifically as to how it applies to you being enrolled in a high school with an extremely high student turnover rate. What do you feel would be some good ways to ease the transition of the new population into the returning one? How could school spirit play a part in this? BTW, don't forget to dress up next week for spirit week--the winning class gets candy bars on Friday!

when you put a bunch of teenagers in a school, its hard for all of us to do something together.. but if we think about, it would be alot easier if we did come together, stay together, and work together because then we wouldn't have very many problems. we wouldn't be in cliques where only certain people are allowed and we wouldn't be picking on other students.
henry ford is saying that first you have to come together, then if you can stay together, you're doing pretty good; and if you can work together, you will be successful.

First its good to come together, then stay together and become closer, and working together is the final step. If our school came togehter, stayed togehter, and worked together we would'nt have groups, that way people who don't fit in that group are not left out.
Some ways to ease the transition of the new population into the returning one are to have the old or returning students to be polite to the new students. If the old or returning students would leave their clings, groups, or posse to realize that there are so many more important things in life. Once High School is over they probably won't be able to keep in contact with all of those people anyway. So if they came together to greet the new students and make them feel welcome than they will gain new friedns. It's hard for 1,380 stundents to all come together on something and agree. But once you do you are off to an amazing new start. They can stay together and that would be their progress. If they all decided to leave their comfprt zones and make the new students feel welcome and they kept this going than they would be making progress. After progress comes success. But this like everyhting else is going to require work. If the returning students work at their goal of welcoming new students than they will become successsful and make new friends in the end when everything is all said and done.
I feel that it would be good for new students ot come to our school cause that gives us new people to meet and new people to become friends with. having school spirit makes more people want to be around you so your coming together and working together too.
When school starts, it is the beginning of everyone getting together. But usually no one really stays together; we all have our own cliques. If we did all stay together though, no one would be left out and there wouldn't be as many problems. I believe that school spirit week really helps the school, well at least for the people that participate, because it is one time that we are all the same and have came together in support of our school. And if we win the game Friday, we will be a success!
i agree but i dont know if it's changed
it sounds alot like a team, i don't know
ummm well I not sure but its kind of hard to stay together. You may have different thoughts and different ways to do things. But it is easy to work together and get stuff done but you may not like someone because they act different, so I don't know
This quote applies to me greatly. I was new my freshman year. I probably contributed to the turnover rate. Some good ways to ease the transition of new population into a returning one is by coming, keeping, and working together, just like Ford said. School spirit plays a big part in this because without it, we don't have much success when it comes to working and keeping together. We all need to work together and be nice to each other so we have a good time in high school.

i like thins quote is like in class when we get(or are put) into groups and are told of a project we are to do. the we all learn that i may not like all these people or even get along with them...but hey "e" for effort. finally we complete the project. it may be great or terrible but in the end we all came together and did something with people we may not have wanted to and that is the real success.
we have link crew, which is a group of student that have qualified to help out the upcoming freshmen make the transition from JH to HS much easier. and alot of times we know upper class men from church family or friends so that is helpful. school spirt week is a great way for anyone in any grade to get involved. and yes we may look stupid dressing up but at least we all look stupid "together" and its fun! step out of your box dont be afraid what people may say, think, or feel!!!
Adding students to the returning student body will never be easy. I think some good ways to get kids to come together is by getting them all involved in after school stuff wether it is a club or sport make sure everyone is doing something. Just having a class with someone is no way to get to know anyone. I think school spirit could play a major roll in kids getting to know each other and mend into one student body. If everyone got fired up sports or clubs there would not be a problem.
I think that our school is pretty good at being united. But like everyother school there are clics and social groups that dont get along. When you first enter a new school you dont always feel welcome but then after awhile you begin to find new friends and start to fit in. And usually by the end of the year you feel like part of the school.
This is basically describing a team. Coming together-many individuals becoming in sync with eachother. Keeping together-making compromises to make things work and always working together. And by working together everything we do would be a success. I think that if our school came together as a "team" things would be better off. Our school has a lot of "clics" and not everyone gets along. We all need to accept eachother for who they are and be friendly, then I think our school would be better.
I beleive that everyone showing kindness and compassion would ease this turnover rate. I say this because personally I have moved 7 times. I know that people taking you in under their wing is a huge help. School spirit can play a big part in this because you get to be a part of a proud school. It would boost your morale and cause for in the end a good year
HARD
I do beleive what Henry Ford said "Comming together is a beginning, Keeping together is progress, Working together is success" is very true. Working together is hard sometimes but its what makes a good community. This all falls into school spirit by each grade going in together and dressing up to beat the other grades for a candy bar and plus its fun.

School spirit is really important to a school being united. A lot of kids believe that everyone is just very judgemental and would laugh at them if they step out of their comfort zone and dressed up. So if everyone would do it there would be no reason to make fun of people. Everyone would look awesome together and feel united. Especially the new kids wouldnt feel left out. Everyone should support their school and get a long together. Sure there will be clics in school, but everyone should be able to go in and out of the different clics.
Some good ways that i feel would ease the transition of the new population is, 1. working together to help the community grow. 2. be nice to people no matter who they are. 3. giving people tests about how they feel of other people, just to see what they say, and to try to help them. School spirit could play a part in this because, everyone or most students do the same thing. Since they all do the same thing, nobody can really make fun of them because they are doing the same thing.
I think that Henry Ford is trying to imply that working together we can achieve more. For example, on Firday at the pep-assembly the classes worked together in order to achieve their goals, or win their race. And the crowd did as well. In order to be the loudest class we had to work together and SCREAM!
when u try and do something u always have to come together but once u come together its hard to stay together b/c ur gonna end up not getting along but once u over come that and start actually working together you become successful
Well i think we could like come together and talk to each other like tell about ourselves. Spirit work could help cause like we're all comeing together to do something the whole entire school is doing.

Um well i don't really know because some people don't agree with others and they don't like what some people do. Everyone is different so it's kind of your own opinion. In a way i agree with in but then again i don't.

this is a very good statement that henry said but often sometimes not everyone agrees with it, but it will be a great thing to work together and get sonething done in no time working with someone, thats something that everyone should do.
I think what Mr. Ford is trying to say is that people need to try to work together, if at all possible, even though at some time that can be very hard. I could be wrong, but i really do not think so. And i agree with him, so... thats about it
i see as coming together means that the class of 2010 started off together in elementry school which was the beginning. We kept together during jr. high and now look we are in high school working together for success to grad. showing school spirit and having fun just makes the time pass by faster till we grad.
I think Mr. Ford is trying to say that we need to work together to be successful. One person cannot get things done by themselves. People dont understand when they say they dont need anybody they are lying because to form a better community people have to work together.
Mr. Ford is saying that for us to get the best expirence we can from high school we need to work together. Kind of like an assembly line:)I think that it makes things easier for new students when they see how well we work together during spirit week. Plus its a lot of fun:-)
I think that us coming together as a school or even as a class is success because it shows that even though things are changing all around us we can still come together and be a strong spirited school. I think we did a good job of that on spirit week for homecoming.
The comment applies to the highschool because just about any amount of people can come together, but sticking together is harder then just being together. Transition of new students and old, could be eased a better understanding of were somm of the new students come from. school spirit plays the role of maken the new comers feel more welcomed to BHS, and will encurage em to get more involved in school activities.
The best way to ease the transition of new students is to implement some kind of student ambassador program that allows the upper classman to associate with the lower classman.
Two times a week, the freshman spend their pirate time with one or more juniors or seniors. During this time, the "ambassadors" create games or ways to help the freshman communicate with each other. Also, they can give information about clubs and different organizations that are offered at Branson High School.

Good idea. The Link Crew is trying to come up with ideas just like this to help freshman adjust to high school life!!
Well, basically, if this whole school came together, stayed together, and succeeded together then there would be no groups or cliques. Any student, form any background would be able to fit in with the students he or she chooses.
"Coming together is a beginning, Keeping together is progress, Working together is success." --Henry Ford
When I start high school, its the beginning of everyone coming together,if everybody finishes school then we accomplished staying together and working together. Teach the new generation teamwork with the older population. School spirit would take part in this byshowing everyone that each individual person plays a big role in teamwork!
When i was a freshman I really did not feel too out of place, mostly because i still had all my friends from grade. I dont feel that i really got the full experience and had as much fun until i befriended some upperclassmen though. Obviously not everyone is going to get along but i think just being more open as an upperclassmen and not looking at the new kids as just stupid freshman would really make a diffference.

i concur! this quote makes you think. to start stuff together whatever it may be you must first come together. Then you have to stay together and once you work together then it works. i like this quote Henry Ford is a smart guy.

High School is how people come together. It brings people from all over the area into one building and we stay together for a whole nine months. Eventually we have to accept our differences and work together.
I think henry ford is trying to imply that if people were to work together than we will be successful. I think it could be easier to be popular if you were involved more in the school. If you were in a sport or some kind of club it could be easier to make friends.

I think the quote above is accurate. When people do come together it makes things much easier. But realisticly that is not going to happen in high school because there are to many personalities and differences between people. SChool spirit does take some people's mind of of th differences though.
I think it would be good for students to come together but I also think it would never happen.
I like this quote alot. In fact this is this years FFA quote that is on our shirts. it makes alot of since in high school you must work together in groups and in work shops.
I like this quote alot. It's on our ffa shirts and it is a very true statement. You are always going to be working with different people your whole life especially in highschool. It's important in your highschool because you work in groups a lot.
When you start to get to know other people you get closer. Then you see that together you can do stuff that you couldn't do by yourself or just could't do them right. By working togeher with other people you would be able to help each other out and acomplish more things.
I can relate to this quote because there was a new girl at our school last year, her name is Jenna. We kind of started talking in the hallways more and more..and then we became really good friends. We've been best friends ever since.
[(t-ra)]
This is a very true quote. For an example, if we could get everyone in the high school to contribute to a certain cause we could make a bigger differece than if only a group of people did it. This is also true about the world.
I think the best way is to make groups or clubs. This way they feel like they belong to something. This will make them want to stay just to be with there friends and or group.
I believe is a TEAM. I think that all can accomplish more than one. The softball team can't win a game if only one player shows up to play. Everyone has to do their part and want to win! There is no I in Team, and nor will there ever be!

How this quotation applies to me being enrolled in BHS is that by coming together we can do great things. But thats the easy part. Keeping together is one of the hardest things for teenagers to do, because we are just lerning who we are but if we keep together we will become unstoppable. Once we learn how to stay together then we have success , we can help change the world. There is power in numbers.
I think this comment applies to me in high school in a few ways. Coming to high school was the first step, like it is for all other students. To continue to attend and apply myself is a progress. I have to work at it to achieve good grades. And working together? Not quite sure how that applies with school.
i do not get school spirit week i dress up but if people dont want to they wont
